I Don’t Totally Hate Shopping.

I spent $500 at a bookstore on Friday.

But it’s not like you think! The Other Change of Hobbit has these Special Accounts where you give them $500, then they give you 20% off everything in the store until you spend all the $500 bucks. I realized that this is a good deal for me because I go on book buying binges and really, it gets expensive:p

My first purchase was The Hallowed Hunt, Lois McMaster Bujold’s latest book. Which I’ve already finished. It’s really good, btw. It’s the third book in the same world as The Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls. As usual with Bujold, it’s not at all necessary to read the books in order. This book didn’t even mention the characters in the first two. It’s like set in a different country in the same world. Someone said that he thought the Hallowed Hunt was the best one yet, but I’m not sure… I liked it a lot, but I really like Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls too. I think I’m going to have to re-read everything:)

Oh we went to Lux for dinner today. Pretty good, especially the sashimi, scallops, and dessert (we go warm chocolate cake and panna cotta). The butterfish and the beef dishes was pretty good too. I’m sorry I forgot the camera:p It was a bit on the pricey side, though — overall bill was over $40/person, counting food, drink, and tip. A lot of the reviews we read said that service was horrible, but today it was really good, nice guy, timely, no probs. I liked the decor/atmosphere too. I think Yut and I like Isa (same owner/chef) better overall. Lux is more fusion and Isa is more French, both do tapas style dishes.
