Pocky Sale, oh yes!

Every time we go to 99 Ranch Market nowadays, I always go to the snacks aisle to check if there’s any Green Tea Pocky. Lately though, they haven’t had any, it’s weird. But the last time we went, they had Men’s Pocky (”ALL NEW!” — I’ll say:p).

What the heck izzat?! I’ve never [...]

More on Competitive Eating

Oops, I made a mistake yesterday, the Alka-Seltzer U.S. Open of Competitive Eating is on ESPN, not ESPN2.
Yeah, Sonya Thomas is totally tiny! Besides being only 5 feet tall — actually, I don’t know, I’m taking your word for it:) — she only weighs like 105 lbs:p And she’s the #1 ranked American, [...]

Fascinated, Yet Repulsed

We watched the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest during dinner today (ESPN2). Luckily, the actual eating part didn’t happen til the end of dinner, cos doooooood!
To win, you have to eat as many Nathan’s Famous hot dogs as possible in 12 minutes. The world record holder is Takeru [...]

Flaming Lemon Drop

This is another photo from Saturday night. Just cos it was a really yummy drink — I didn’t even think I wanted any more drinks, but Julie and Al both recommended this. You can’t tell, but it’s actually on fire. V. pretty blue fire:) And it tasted like lemonade:D

I am FOB!

The TV was on, tuned to Animal Planet. We were watching a dog show (Jeffrey the Pekingese won best in show), but didn’t switch channels after that ended, so we ended up watching one of the Animal Planet’s Most Extreme series episodes, Most Extreme SWARMS! One of the swarms they highlighted was the [...]

Hell’s Kitchen (and other Monday TV shows)

Does anyone else who watches Hell’s Kitchen think that Jean-Philippe (the maitre d’) is the best dude on the show? Seriously, he doesn’t yell at anyone, he always maintains his cool, and he’s got a dishy accent. That accent is definitely yums. So’s Gordon Ramsay’s, come to think of it:) That [...]

Actually About Saturday

This was like a birthday weekend:)
Happy (now belated) birthday to Yan:)
And happy early birthday to Al. Julie organized a bday bash for Al at this bar called EZ5 in the city. Yut and I rented a car cos we didn’t wanna be stuck with public transportation hours.
Anyhows, it was a pretty nice bar! [...]

New Ways to Torture Your Kids

A bunch of kids (maybe a church group? club of some sort? something like that) were posing together for a group photograph, and I overheard one girl say, “Oh shit!” cos she was trying to put a camera on the tripod, and maybe it almost dropped? I was trying not to stare:p
Anyhows, [...]

Recycled Checks

We just ordered checks from The Check Gallery. They print checks using soy-based ink on recycled paper.
Surprisingly, there aren’t that many companies that offer checks on recycled paper. Two of them seem to be semi-affiliated (The Check Gallery and Classic Checks, both from Maryland:D), then there’s Message!Products which also uses recycled paper and [...]

The Harry Potter Experience

At 12:01am, sales of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince went on sale. In anticipation of this, lots and lots of bookstores all over opened late, with balloons and witches and cookies and drinks and whatnot.
Which I know cos just after midnight, I was home. But soon after, I wasn’t:p

If you look carefully, [...]
