Fall Season is BACK!

by mim

Okay, so technically I don’t have time to watch as much TV as I do, but somehow, I manage. (I know, you’re all so proud.) So far this week, I’ve watched Beauty and the Geek (fun!) and of course America’s Next Top Model. You know what that means! Come Monday, fourfour will have the recap! YESSS! The recap is an integral part of the watching, in case you were wondering.

But you know what’s the freakiest thing? I had a weird dream about Heroes this week too. I don’t remember the dream but I definitely remember it was about Heroes cos I woke up long enough to tell Yut. It’s premiering next week, so that must be why. Also cos I have excellent taste in TV. :P

The Worm Gets Its Way

by mim

We bought 2 ears of organic corn at the farmer’s market. One of them was beautiful, but the other had a worm on it! A black worm maybe half an inch long on the tip area. OMG I was so groadied out! Yut had to go put the ear of corn in the bag I was using to throw away the husks and cornsilk cos after I told him the corn was making my skin crawl he didn’t feel like he could eat it either. I wanted to take a photo but not enough to reach my hand back into the bag and take out the corn. I know, I am so wimpy!

It’s cos corn is delicious; the worm knew it too. Well it’s all his now. :p

More overheard

by mim

The girl in front of me in line ordered an egg salad sandwich on toast. Her friend decided that it sounded good and said, “I’ll have what she’s having.” They paid together, then, on their way out, I heard, “How are we going to tell which one is which?”

Also, pumpkin spice lattes are back! I usually get soy chai lattes cos pumpkin spice is seasonal, but it’s back, yay!!! :)

Overheard

by mim

I was standing outside when I heard some college students talking about their plans for this weekend. It sounded like they were planning a party of some sort, cos one of them said, “… get some microbrews, and a couple of cheeses, some fruit, and maybe some wine…” And all I could think was, dang, microbrews?! diff cheeses, fruit, and wine too?! these kids are swanky! I don’t remember being that swanky back in the day. Maybe that’s cos I didn’t go to parties. :p

Tremblrs

by mim

This summer, I’ve felt more earthquakes than ever before in my life. Well, maybe not counting the years in Taiwan; I’m not remembering anything but then again it could’ve been such a common occurrence that I didn’t notice. Also I was young. But last night there was a 2.something one, and just a couple of hours ago there was a 3.0 one.

Astute in a Narrow Sort of Way

by mim

Yut and I were at the airport today (coming back from visiting his ‘rents) walking to our gate when we passed some people. I said, “Oooh did you see her shoes? They were cute!” He said, “No, but did you see that guy? He had a DS Lite!” Neither of us can remember if they were young or old or a couple or parent and child or what. :P

When the Cat’s Away

by mim

I noticed that when Yut’s gone, I start sharing my bed with books. I dunno how, but first there’s like just one book, which isn’t really that unusual, but then there were a couple and now there’s four. So even though I have the whole bed to stretch out in, somehow I still end up on just one side cos I don’t wanna crush the books. Not that I need that much room to stretch. :P

So Not a Morning Person

by mim

Woke up to walk Yut to the BART station this morning. Omg, there are people out at 8 in the morning on a Sunday! Chipper people, out walking dogs, walking babies, jogging, buying coffee, awake. In contrast, I’m sleepy, my hair’s a mess (that’s what I get for going to sleepy last night before my hair was fully dried), and I walk into Starbucks and I can’t figure out why it’s all dim for a minute cos I forget to take off my sunglasses. Then I get home and I try to get the key in and I can’t, then I figure out I’m trying to fit the key in upside down. Then I drop the keys. I’m so going back to bed, it’s obviously too early to be up.

Book Quiz

by mim

I think I have to blame misa for this cos I swear I hardly mentioned rabbits before fury and frost. :P

You’re Watership Down!
by Richard Adams
Though many think of you as a bit young, even childish, you’re actually incredibly deep and complex. You show people the need to rethink their assumptions, and confront them on everything from how they think to where they build their houses. You might be one of the greatest people of all time. You’d be recognized as such if you weren’t always talking about talking rabbits.

Take the Book Quiz at the Blue Pyramid.

Class, Again

by mim

Wow it’s been forever. I think I was all writed out after that darned English class. Then we went to Vancouver (photos), and now, I’ve signed myself up for another class. Luckily this time not a 6 week long writing class, but instead calculus, for the 2nd time. I took it in high school but it was a long time ago, and I guess they like you to have taken it within the last ten years (am so aging myself here). But! That’s not even my complaint this time! I don’t even mind taking calculus; math is less scary than I used to think it was, especially since I’m only taking one class. It’s the textbook. OMG, it’s $200.10!!! I don’t remember any books at that price back in the day! (Am further aging myself.) I’m going to buy a used copy or new or something online and return this one before school starts. $200.10 is too much. Sheesh, is this normal nowadays?!
