Elite 8 – OMG
Sweet Sixteen
We went to Beckett’s (a local Irish pub type place) for dinner and beer and watched the last minutes of Villanova vs. BC. It went into overtime! Great ending:) It was especially fun cos everytime someone made a score, or mistake we’d be reacting with “Ooooh!” or “Oh yes!” and we’d hear “YEAH!!!” or a groan or whatevers from someone or someones random. Was instant feedback! Good stuff:)

The current scores. More games throughout this weekend, so things’ll be changing fast. I keep trying to pull away from Katie, but she just catches back up:p
We also calculated the points in future games that are already lost cos the team you picked has been eliminated, the points still available, and the highest possible points you can possibly get. This means that Kitty’s sewn up last place! Sorry Seth and yb, nice try.
WINNING!!!
BOGGLE
We played WEBoggle for HOURS AND HOURS today. Just COULDN’T. STOP. PLAYING. We managed to get up to rank 5, but that was it. Some of them Bogglers just rock. Anyhows, I am now spreading the joy to y’all. It’s surprisingly addictive, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Second Round Scores, Corrected
Still talking about basketball, I know:p But I messed up the 2nd round scores cos I forgot they’re not worth 1 point, they’re worth 2! And also I messed up the scoring for George Mason. Anyhows, all fixed now.

Slight changes in placement. As ever, Katie and I are in first (I am starting to embrace my inner child, you are right, Al, so I guess this is acceptable:p) Now CT is 2nd (!) and Se Jin is third, and Kitty is last. Everyone, please check your scores!
Round 2 Scores
I’m doing good! I never do good! This is amazing! :) Yes, I know, I’m tied with an 8th grader:p But whatevs! Errr, hi Katie, you’re doing good too! :) (Not that I think you read this, but just in case.) Se Jin is 2nd; CT is 3rd(!!!); misa is 4th; Yut is 5th; yb and BFJS are tied for 6th; then Jim, Kitty, and Seth are tied; then Al. Now on to the Sweet Sixteen, but not ’til Thursday. I know I said that I would post non-basketball stuff, and I will, hopefully before next Thursday:)
First Day of Round 2
The Rest of Round One
The First Scores
Actually, before I start, here is Jim’s bracket.

Jim picked California, which I know I said, but you know, just in case.
And for those of you who didn’t watch any games (I’m all pretending like I watched soooo many games, when actually I watched zero:p), and aren’t going to go look up who won…

Gold boxes are the games played already.
And now, FINALLY, the scores! :)

The . looking thing denotes the games that misa and Jim got an automatic 0 for. misa’s score would’ve been 10 otherwise. The # denotes the games that Jim was also eligible to get an automatic 0 for. In the case of Tennessee, everyone else got it right too, so he got the point. If he’d been on time, he’d have 14 points! Doooooood. The highlighting is just to point out the stuff we all agreed on, wrong or right:p
Anyhows, CT (all that trash talking and winner mentality must be working:p), Katie (in 8th grade, I think?!), me, and Yut are in front! Woot:) Unfortunately, Seth’s tournament bad luck continues from last year. And Kitty, I’m sorry, but Air Force? The team you picked as the National Champion? Gone. Blame Illinois:p
This whole no knowledge, no skills, and most importantly no money involved deal makes people pick craaaaazy… It’s like Deal, or No Deal, but waaaaaay better:)
Bracketology
The brackets, they have arrived:) I’m just going to put them up for now, in approximate order of arrival, comment a little later.

Kitty, Air Force (for the uniforms! teeheehee:) Well I understand the temptation:p)
Hope I didn’t miss any:) Let me know if there are errors. Commentary type talk coming soon, but feel free to draw your own conclusions:)
Update (already!): I just realized that the large size brackets that I tried to link to are unreadable…at least for me. I’ll fix this when I can.
Update2 (~2:25pm PST): Wait I think they’re ok, just have to zoom in. Also, I had to make up late submission rules cos 2 people submitted late! misa, the defending champion (champion, teehee) who thought it was due at 12 noon PST, HAHA, someone else who had time zone difficulties, and Jim (a co-worker), who forgot til I mentioned it and so I haven’t even put up his bracket yet. Anyhows, the rule is this: if you submit to me after a game started, but before the game ended, then you’ll get the point if EVERYONE else guessed correctly. If you submit after the game finished, then it’s a 0 for sure. I think this sounds fair, if anyone has a better idea let me know:) That means that misa may get up to 3 0s, and Jim has 3 definite 0s and 3 more maybe 0s. Some of you didn’t fill in the part with the total points scored in final game… basically if the game goes 75-70 (last year’s score) then total points is 145. Submit that number please, I’ll add it in. It’s the tiebreaker. Oh Jim picked California for the winner:)
