Feeling… Old
Today I helped some high schoolers get their softball which rolled my way.
They said, “Thank you, ma’am.”
MA’AM!!! Geeeeeez I’m OLD.
Day Off
Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day, so we get the day off.
4 day week, long weekend, boy am I looking forward to that:)
Ugly Foot
When my feet start getting super dry and ugly, I know it’s time to stop wearing flip flops and start wearing socks. Alas.

It didn’t used to be like this. Either I used to be more resilient or I cared less. Or both. By the way, this is not the worst it’s been. I’ve been wearing socks for a month now or something. It’s been rainy lately, so that makes it easier at least.
Update:
Wow I just realized that the foot is tremendously big and ugly and gross. Teehee
Election
California had a special election yesterday. Some places added stuff, but all we had here were the 8 state propositions. Every single one was voted down. Gawd what a waste of time and money. Not that I didn’t vote, I did. Still thought the whole thing was stupid. Just like the recall election. Thought that was a silly waste, too:p
Dinner with misa and neb
Went to dinner with misa and neb on Saturday (rented a Chevrolet Cobalt 2 door, which we didn’t like as much as the 4 door:p) at Thea Mediterranean in Santana Row. Santana Row is like the swankiest outdoor mall type place I’ve ever seen.
Thea is a Mediterranean place (duh:p), with really good dips. I did sort of feel like their appetizers were better than their entrees, cos the entrees were more like stuff you could get at a lot of places, good but not special. Although I wonder how much of it is cos I got really full by the end:p I did like the lamb better than the whole fish though. This is the Sampler of dips and spreads which was quite delicious!

Afterwards we went to their place and played DDR. No photos, just embarassing. I SUXORS!!! I kept getting D and F grades — I never made it above D:p Oh well was fun:) But now my calves hurt. <shame>
Then we went to their new HOT TUB!!! Oooh yes! They’ve got this lovely garden out back now. Before, it was like a little gravelly rectangle, then they got someone to work on it, but now it’s gorgeous. I have a nice lopsided photo of one of the best parts:

Hey it was dark:p
Dinner at Chez Panisse
Yut took me to Chez Panisse for dinner tonight. It was most excellent! There’s one set menu every night, so we didn’t have to decide anything:) I also got the recommended wine pairings (by the glass) with dinner for the night. Technically, we were sharing the wine, but really, Yut was just tasting. We started off with a lillet for aperitif. I’ve had lillets before, sometimes good, sometimes not. This one was definitely on the good side:) V. easy to drink, Yut liked it, too. We also had olives, which were probably the best we’ve had. Admittedly, our olive experience is rather low because Yut doesn’t generally like olives, and I’ve only recently begun to. The next course was “Pork terrine with pickled Chino Ranch vegetables” and also with a small garden salad which had a few different vegetables, not sure what, but I know it had super good arugula, which is one of my fave vegetables:) After my first bite, I said, “Oh my gawd, if I could cook like this…” and Yut cut in with, “I woulda married you 5 years ago!” (Clearly, a romantic:p) The plate was all pristine whiteness when we were done. The next course was “Shellfish sausage with yellow tomato and lobster butter sauce” which really doesn’t sound v. impressive, but was delicious, and the waiter told us that the sausage had been made that afternoon. Also, “yellow tomato and lobster butter sauce” really doesn’t begin to describe how good the sauce was. It had pieces of lobster in it and was just amazing. We tried to mop up as much as possible with the bread. Oh the bread. Gawd, that was damn good bread. It must’ve been baked that day. We asked for more bread, cos it was soooo good. Next was “Grass-fed beef rib eye maître d’hôtel with straw potatoes and creamed spinach” which when we got seated, we saw being turned and roasted. If you’ve ever been to House of Prime Rib, you sort of know what this dish was like. The straw potatoes was different though, sort of like a hash brown just perfectly crisped. The creamed spinach had real spinach taste, and you could make out leaves, but so creamy good and honestly, I’m not doing this justice. The steak was good, perfectly medium rare the way we like it. There was just a little bit of spicy horseradish on it, fresh and yums. Dessert was “Chocolate hazelnut Paris-Brest” which looked like a bagel schmeared with hazelnut cream cheese drizzled with chocolate, although that wasn’t it at all. The bagel thing was like a slightly crisp shortcake thing, I dunno, that’s probably all wrong. Anyhows, we dubbed it the “Bagel of Deliciousness” (I was pretty buzzed by this point:p). We also had really good French-pressed Ethiopian coffee, not at all sharp or bitter. Anyhows, the meal was really good:) I would go again in a heartbeat, for sure! (I know, I know, I sound like Katie Holmes what with the “amazing” and whatnot. But at least I have a good reason:p)
Dream Booger
I had the weirdest, semi-groady dream today. That’s like a hint so’s you can stop reading and I don’t gross you out if this sort of thing grosses you out.
I was eating dinner, but for some reason I had these ginormous boogers up my nose — I think they mighta been sharp and impeding my breathing. But for some reason, I guess I just decided to surreptitiously(!) pick my nose at the dinner table. Somehow I was so smooooooth that NO ONE NOTICED! (Honestly, the things my dream self will just accept without question. Hmmph.) And I even looked at the booger afterwards. DURING DINNER!!! (Was big.) The rest of dinner (in my dream) I didn’t seem to pay much attention to dinner, I just kept an eye on the tissue or napkin or whatevers to make sure no one touched it. Completely unrealistic since no matter what I woulda paid attention to my food. Duh.
When I woke up today, my nose was a little stuffy:D

Halloween Candy
For Halloween, we like to buy ourselves a couple bags of candy even though there’s never any trick-or-treaters cos we live in one of those 5 unit apartment buildings that’s just not that inviting. But y’know, it’s Halloween, can’t pass up an excuse to buy candy. And we always buy candy we like:)
Anyhows, this year we got a bag of Snickers. (I like Snickers. I’d buy them with or without excuse, but nevermind that, that’s not the point.) I just ate one though and I swear these Fun Size ones are smaller than they used to be!!! Skinnier and shorter — what a combination.
I’m gonna have to go try another one, just to check.
Naptime
I walked by a dude sleeping in his car in one of the employee parking lots. The radio was on softly, or I woulda never noticed.
Teeheehee:)
