So Me

Teeheehee:)
Pumpkin Spice
‘Round this time of the year, Starbucks starts offering my favorite Starbucks drink: Pumpkin Spice Latte. Oooh so delicious. This year they added a new item, the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin (more like Pumpkin Cream Cheese Icing Muffin, but why quibble?), so of course we had to try one.

Oh my gawd, yums:) A bit on the sweet side, so I think it’d be better with with regular coffee than with the Pumpkin Spice Latte, but oh so good anyhows.
I don’t think I’m the only one who thinks so because yesterday I tried to get one and they were SOLD OUT!!! Hmmph. So I got one today instead:)
To the Hoverers
Okay, if you’re one of those people who go into a public restroom and HOVER, for goodness’ sakes clean up after yourselves!!! I mean, it’s your own pee, way less gross for you to clean it up than for me:p Seriously, when you hover, just check after and clean up whatevers. Or stop hovering. Geeeezus.
Not About Nintendogs, Mostly
I saw the most dainty dog I’ve ever seen walking off leash with this little old lady yesterday:) It looked like some kind of mutt or maybe a lab or something, but somehow, the way she put one leg in front of the other looked so careful and dainty. Super cute:) Wish I took a photo, oh well.
Also, I don’t see how anyone can think anything but happy cute thoughts about Nintendogs:p
Saturday’s Wedding
So we were invited to a co-worker’s wedding on Saturday, but we didn’t make it to the actual ceremony cos of the staying up to play Civ deal:p Well it turned out well anyhows, cos we had fun at the reception and we might’ve been grumpy if we’d gone to both (that’s all day dude! Weddings. Sheesh).
So we rented a car (Ford Taurus this time, meant to check the trunk, but FORGOT, dammit!) and drove down (the) 680 to San Ramon — it was a nice drive. Then, we went to get a card cos we procratinated gift wise:D Then we went to see Corpse Bride which was good but not great. I dunno, I enjoyed it, but I didn’t feel deeply for it. Still though, definitely fun and worth watching — visually, it was really beautifully done and I like Danny Elfman and the music.
The movie ended right before the reception so our timing was perfect. (This is pretty unusual for me, so must be Yut’s influence:p) The reception was really nice, with some traditional Philipino stuff interspersed with the American stuff (speeches, dinner, dancing etc). After dinner, Yut and I separately noticed a girl playing with a Nintendo DS, so we went to the car to get mine, and then I went up to her and asked if she was playing with her Nintendogs, and she was! :) Then later, we both noticed another guy playing with a DS, only he was playing Advanced Wars, but he had Nintendogs in this Nintendo bag for carrying the games and the system (I’m guessing). So I’m like 3 for 3 in accosting people and asking about their Nintendogs:) Unfortunately, we all had the chihuahua version so no trading dog breeds. Also, at some point, my DS got taken over, I was like superfluous except to explain to the girls who didn’t have a DS how to walk my dog. Still though, it was super cute:)

Edited to fix a spelling mistake. How mortifying! :D
Catch Up
This week I haven’t posted much, dunno why. Well anyhows, lessee…
Tuesday I don’t barely remember. Also: Goddamn Fox and Goddamn baseball. I want House back!!! Although Commander-in-Chief has been pretty entertaining and My Name is Earl, too.
On Wednesday, we went to the city to have dinner with Lingo, Annie, Jaynry, and Cliff for Cliff’s birthday. Lingo picked a restaurant called Limon in the Mission area of San Francisco (could be wrong, geography is not my forte — I pronounce that FORT btw, not fortay). It was good, but I forgot my camera, so no picts:p Limon is a Peruvian restaurant and one of their specialties is their ceviche (diff types). The Ceviche Limon which is a (cooked) mussel with like salsa on top is supposed to be v. good, but I was more just ok about it. We also got a shrimp ceviche, which had really good flavors, but we both thought it’d be more special with raw shrimp, like amaebi. The halibut ceviche was really good though! Super yums. There might be some bias towards raw seafood at work here:) We also got fried calamari which was crunchilicious. Forgot the rest of the appetizers, they were good but not special, I guess. The entrees were all pretty good. Personally we liked the duck breast best, but of course, not everyone likes duck. It was really tender and flavorful. Also, Lingo ordered an Argentinian malbec but I don’t remember the label exactly and we got sangria. I think it was one of the best sangrias I’ve had. Oh! Almost forgot dessert — they have this no flour chocolate cake which has to be ordered 15 minutes ahead of time, omg sooooo good. Sooo sooo good. It had this fig on the side which was quite good as well, and I’m not a big fan of fig, usually. We also got panna cotta, which I really like, but I felt like this version was a little heavy; I liked the panna cotta at Lux better. If panna cotta is supposed to be heavy and thick then I suppose they did it right and it was just me:p We also got an orangey flavored flan. Not bad, but basically everything was overshadowed by the chocolate cake. Mmmmm…chocolate:)
Thursday some co-workers organized a trip to Happy Hour at Raphael to celebrate October birthdays and etc:D
Last night we started a whole new Civ III game (we were talking about Civ IV and one thing led to another) but of course that means that we didn’t get to sleep until 6something in the morning. Oik. “One more turn!”
Today we went to a wedding. More on that later:p Am tired now. Damn Civ and taking over the world.
Car Rental
We rented a car Sunday; got a Chevrolet Cobalt. Y’know, we liked it! We liked it better than the Chrysler Sebring convertible we rented once. We tend to like small cars cos we’re not the most skilled parallel parkers around, but still this was a pretty nice cute car.
We took the car to Bed Bath & Beyond to look for a pitcher, some new potholders, a kitchen rack thing, orange juicer, a popcorn maker, and some other stuff. We got out of Bed Bath & Beyond with some new potholders and a kitchen rack thing. We also got a 3-piece cooking utensil set, a some placemats, and a TRASHCAN. Honestly, shopping there is dangerous:p The trashcan didn’t even fit into the trunk of the poor car!
We also went grocery shopping at both 99Ranch and Safeway, cos you know, a car’s not something we have everyday:) AND, in case you fall into the trunk when you’re putting in the groceries and then the trunk door slams shut:

Yes! I think it’s a safety pully thing in case you need to open the trunk from the inside. The little man is hopping out of the trunk and hitting the ground running:) I like it!
Gawd, I hope all y’alls out there aren’t going, “<snort> Puh-leeeaaazzze, everyone’s seen those before, damn bumpkins.” Cos I never seen one, or at least never noticed. Also, gas prices are expensive!
I think the cheapest we saw around was like $2.93 for the 87 octane. Just a month ago, it was like $2.78 or so, and I don’t think that was the cheapest around.

Crrrrraaazy.
Losing My ID
For 3 days this week, I thought I lost my work id, which is bad cos I had to call the receptionist person to be buzzed in every time I wanted to go hang out in my cubicle (which is a cool happening sort of place that I wanna hang out in…). Aaaaaand replacing the damn thing costs like $25 or something like that.
I looked in my left jacket pocket, which is where I’d last put it, and then my right jacket pocket, then my bag, then my pants pocket, and even my office drawers. But it was gone!!! But I didn’t want to have to deal with going to get a new id, so I kept on hoping that it would just sort of turn up or someone would mail it back or something.
Thursday, at dinner (after I’d already left work:p), as I was taking off my jacket, I felt something in the pocket, so I checked it again. Dooooood, it was in there the whole time! I felt STOOPID. Yut laughed at me, like the sympathetic fellow he is. So I turned and asked him if he’d hidden it, which only made him laugh more — he didn’t even know I’d put my id in my pocket. <sigh>
easy peasy lemon squeezy
I like saying it:)
I mean, I’ve always said “easy peasy” a lot. But ever since I saw that ad for “The Greatest Game Ever played” (some Disney movie about a young golf player) where the caddy said it with the lemon squeezy, I been saying it that way, too. I dunno, it just has a nice ring doesn’t it? Just flows off the tongue:D
Crime Pictorial
Now you can see local police reports online, mapped! They don’t have every city or anything but it’s pretty cool. Seems like a lot of thievery type activities go on in Berkeley:p
Completely unrelated, but we rented Billy Elliot this weekend. We liked it! It was really touching, although at times it did border on treacly. I especially liked Julie Walters as Mrs. Wilkinson, the ballet teacher.
