Cafe Panini is a sandwich/cafe place in Berkeley with paninis, hot sandwiches, that are so good. Anyhows, today, they had a new panini: pork loin with bacon, sundried tomatoes, and cheese (open face). I think they could’ve called it hot heart attack:p But anyhows, I got one to go for lunch today, which I guess wasn’t such a great idea since the melted cheese just stuck to everything. Oh well, still good.
After lunch, I was going back to work when I saw this girl wearing these crazy shoes. They were clear acrylic (or some kind of plastic) with the tiniest of stiletto heels, with a bigger bottom part than the picture. It’s the kind of shoe that makes Yut wonder if a guppy could live in the bottom part of the shoe:p Omg, I was so surprised, I actually looked up from the ground to check her out. She was wearing jeans and a red sweater and carrying books, so I assume she was on her way to class. But dude! She was dressed for work, in a way:p
Hmmmm… meow!
But seriously, I’ve never seen anyone wear that type of shoe in the light of day.

We did a lot of laundry this weekend. (Why is it that we end up doing a lot of laundry and almost nothing else on three day weekends?)
Yut’s taken to putting our clothes into our dressers like vertical files, instead of stacking them. It actually works a lot better cos I can find stuff waaaaay easier. I used to mess up the folding job grabbing clothes, so that when we next did laundry, Yut would go to put away the piles and I wouldn’t have space in my drawers cos everything was in shambles.
Although I must say, my previously messy drawers came in handy when we were playing Taboo once and I got the word wrinkles. I said something like, “In the morning, when I get dressed, you always say I’m all… <frantic hand waving> cos my clothes are a mess in my drawers.” Or something like that. He got it on the first guess:D

Speaking of games, I just checked my email, and Amazon sent me an announcement for the Sims 2 University expansion!! It’s due out on February 28th, only for Windows, unfortunately. I don’t get it — the first expansion is coming out for Windows by March, but the Mac version of The Sims 2 isn’t even available yet, and won’t be out ’til like June or July. That’s CRAZY! The Sims is really popular, I guess, so they are selling plenty, probably, but still. Seems wrong.
Not that I’m not still pretty excited:D Dooooood! Amazon totally knows me! Or something. Scary.

We went to pick up Chinese carryout for dinner today. On the way back, Yut said, “So you wanna watch sit and watch some tv while we eat?” Which is what we normally do.
me: “well, sure, sounds good.”
…<slight pause>…
me: “but it’d be ok if you want to grab bowls, fill ‘em with some food and sit at the computers.”
him: “hehe, sure, whatever you want”
me: “well, either is fine”
In the end, we decided to try to be normal. But it was a close thing — we had an episode of Law & Order saved still, which decided it:)

When I went to turn on my computer at about 1:30pm today, it wouldn’t start up! The Windows XP screen would sort of show up, but the status bar wouldn’t go anywhere, and it was faded. GAAAAAAAH!!
I tried Last Known Good and Safe Mode, to no avail. So I did a Windows repair. While this seemed to have fixed things, after I logged in, I realized that Windows didn’t think it had SP2 installed. So I went to install it, only the computer crashed everytime I tried to run WindowsUpdate. I suppose I should’ve tried to install SP2 from disk or some other troubleshooty stuff, but at that moment, my brain was screaming, “My computer!!! NOOOOOOO!! Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck!”, so I decided to reinstall. Actually, come to think of it, now that I’ve calmed down, I’m still not sure what else I should’ve tried. It’s all just voodoo anyways:p
I backed up the settings and stuff on my C: partition and reformatted and reinstalled. So that was my whole afternoon/early evening, right there. It’s nice having a fresh install, but Christ it’s a bit of a pain.
I’m a little scared about my harddrive because I don’t back up as I should. I mean, I know backing up is extremely important, but I have a lot of stuff and it just seems like it would take forever if I were to burn cd’s. Plus where do I put the stacks of cd’s after I’m done?! Setting up external harddrives or something for backup seems a bit of overkill. We’re thinking of buying a dvd burner finally. But still for the amount of stuff, it’d take a while… and will I actually do it? What do y’all do for backup?
Oh, so I didn’t seen sunlight all day — not that that’s unusual for a Saturday:p

I hate this weather…
Today for the first time this week, it didn’t rain. One day after I bought the umbrella, it stopped raining. The day I carried an umbrella and my laptop around ALL DAY ON MY BACK it didn’t rain. What the fuck?!?!?!?!
… and wish it would end.
(Sorry neb, that was perfect, so I’m stealing it.)
I guess that’s what it took: buying an umbrella.
It’d better end — damn spiteful weather.

It’s been pouring for two days now! TWO days! This is not normal:p Drizzly? Okay. Misty? Okay. Some rain? Okay. But lots of rain for two days straight? Not okay!! And it’s supposed to continue through Sunday!! Gah!
I finally had to give in. The rain, it defeated me:p I’d held out for years without buying an umbrella. I swore off them because it never rains hard for very long and I tend to lose them. Like, give me an umbrella for one day and I will lose it. Even though I’m aware that this happens and try hard to diligently keep track of my umbrella, still it is gone by the end of the day. So I figured I’d just deal, the rain doesn’t bother me. But today, I gave in and bought an umbrella at Walgreens for $7.60. I figure, we’ll see; if it breaks before I lose it, then I’ll get a nicer one. If I lose it before it breaks, I’ll buy another cheap umbrella. Maybe cheaper than $7.60:p In my heart, I am hoping it breaks because I want a pretty umbrella. I had a blue plaid one that was super nice. ‘Til I lost it. Doesn’t have to be blue plaid. Just not plain black. Cos that’s boring:p
Btw, despite the rain, well ok, since Cliff drove:p we went to Pyung Chang Tofu House for dinner today. It’s like we’re on some kind of Korean food kick. Tofu House isn’t a Korean bbq place though. They have these lovely spicy soft tofu soups that are yummilicious! They have kalbi and bulgogi and stuff too, but it’s not grilled, it’s brought out on a sizzling plate thing. Still good. But it’s the soups that are amazing. Perfect for a cool rainy evening.

And today is the first day of the 2005 Westminster Dog Show! Wow what a great Valentines:) I’m so excited. Last year, Josh the newfy won. He was like a large fuzzy pillow! In real life, I’m sure he’s a lot of work and only people who really know what they’re getting into should get one, etcetc, but doooood, he was cute:) I’ve already called misa and CT and messaged Seth and Kitty, so now I’m telling everyone else. Today and tomorrow on the USA network 8pm or so?
“Don’t miss a doggone second of the action!” hahaha that’s from the ad:)
